WHO ARE WE?
BOOKBRIDGE is a registered nonprofit organization under German and Swiss law with headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. Locally, we cooperate with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Our close partners are the Cambodia Scouts, the Provincial Depart of Education, Youth and Sports as well as schools and NGOs.

BOOKBRIDGE supports access to education around the world. We aim at improving the quality of education and promote the participation of youth in the educational sector of their community.

To reach those goals we set up Learning Centers. Books and other media can be borrowed and used for free by all registered members of the library. Further the Learning Center offers paid courses in English and IT, free activities for the local youth and a seminar program according to local needs. Our Learning Centers are designed as social businesses, providing young educators with the possibility of a place to work, nurture their knowledge and pass it on to others and at the same time finance themselves through the paid course program.

WHAT TASKS ARE WAITIN G FOR YOU?
As a Head of Learning Center (HoLC) based in Ang Tasom, Province Takeo, you have two main tasks:

Learning Center Management: You manage daily operations of the learning center together with local staff/librarians (e.g. user registration, check in and out, reorganize books, cleaning). You make sure that the library in our learning center management runs well and that the library opens regularly.

Offering and developing activities and courses: You organize and offer activities and seminars for free (e.g. games, movie nights, agricultural seminars). Besides free
activities and seminars you set up a paid English and IT course system to get the Learning Center to become financially self-sustained.As HoLC you work closely with our BOOKBRIDGE country manager, maintain relationships with our partners and the local community. You prepare operational and financial reports and send them regularly to BOOKBRIDGE. You set up a volunteer network, which consists of local and foreign volunteers who help with daily library operations and who offer free courses/seminars and activities in the library.
