EWMI is seeking a Grassroots Networking and Constituency Training Officer for the USAID Supporting Forests and Biodiversity (SFB) project. The goal of the SFB project is to improve conservation and governance of the Eastern Plains and Prey Lang landscapes to conserve biodiversity and mitigate climate change. The project is implemented by Winrock International in collaboration with WCS, RECOFTC, the World Wide Fund for Nature and the East-West Management Institute in partnership with the Forestry Administration in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Ministry of Environment.
The Grassroots Networking and Constituency Training Officer provides training for various stakeholders, primarily in the Prey Lang Landscape, with particular focus on training-for-trainer approaches. Training topics may include, but will not necessarily be limited to, community organizing, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, and reporting and documentation, as well as climate change, biodiversity, forest management, land and forest law, etc. The Training Officer will also coach, mentor, and monitor community trainers who have themselves been trained to deliver training.
This position is based in Kampong Thom, but will require travel throughout Prey Lang in Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear, Stung Treng, and Kratie on a regular basis. The Training Officer may be required to work in Phnom Penh for about one of week every 4-6 weeks. On occasion, the Training Officer may also contribute to training and other activities in the Eastern Plains, as well.
