NGO description/background
“Teuk Saat 1001” is a Cambodian non-governmental organization created as an offshoot of a safe drinking water supply project in rural area in partnership with the French NGO “1001 fontaines pour demain”. The first stage of the initiative started in 2005, in North West Cambodia. There are currently 50 sites in Battambang, Banteay Meanchey and Siem Reap. And more than 30 sites in the 4 differences provinces (Kandal, Kampong Cham, Prey Veng and Kampong Speu). These 80 sites provide more than 100,000 people daily with safe drinking water.
Mission of the NGO
The mission and vision of “TEUK SAAT 1001” is to improve the health of rural people through the initiative to create safe drinking water service in a sustainable manner.
The proposed objective of our non-profit association is to empower rural communities by enabling them to produce guaranteed quality of drinking water at an affordable price, based on a social enterprise business model, which ensures that they are self-sufficient and reach the largest number of beneficiaries.
Context
Our ambition in the long term is to install 250 water treatment plant in the 250 Communes of Cambodia by the end of 2016
which ultimately serve between 0,5 to 1 million villagers – while today 7 million of Cambodian people living in rural areas don’t have any access to drinkable water. Approximately 1,000 full-time jobs will be created out of this program.
With these 250 water treatment will able to provide a daily safe drinking water from 1,3 to 1,5 million liter.
Teuk Saat 1001” Technical and Quality department” has been developed in order to reinforce the capacity building to the rural entrepreneurs, along with “1001 fontaines” is ongoing to roll-out the solution in different areas of Cambodia by installing between 200 to 250 water treatment plant by 2016 supported by 4 platforms.
“Teuk Saat 1001” is seeking a qualified Cambodian to fill the position of Financial Director, in order to support TS1001 Financial team.
PROJECT: Finance
POSITION: Financial Director based in Phnom Penh but willing to work in Battambang and other locations regularly, with occasional international travel
Start Date : December, 2013
DURATION: 3 months trial period. A long-term contract will offered depending on performance.
The Salary and Benefit package will be competitive according to relevant experience and qualifications.
