Organization Background
Cambodian Children Against Starvation and Violence Association "CCASVA" is a non-partisan, non-religious, local non-government organization with no profit. This Organization was established in early 1996 by group of Cambodian student’s volunteers with an officially registered and recognized from the Ministry of Interior of Kingdom of Cambodia in September 23rd 1996
(Permit No- 889).

CCASVA is now focusing on the needs of vulnerable children, youth and women who are exposed to violence, sexual abuse, exploitation, trafficking, drug abuse, and HIV/AIDS impaction.

CCASVA implementing its plan in 1997, which were funded by generous public donations and technical assistance from the people of USA, the British Embassy, World Food Program, Save the Children UK, Save the Children Norway-Cambodia Office (SCN-CO), KHANA, Terre des Homes Netherlands and Population Service International(PSI/C).

Currently, CCASVA has received fund from different development partners such as SNO Family Protection network project from 2011-2014 and EU from 2014-2016 through Plan international from 2014 -2016, as well from KHANA, Cambodia Acts, ACCT and other private donors.

Our Strategy: 

  • Expand and improve institution for vulnerable and victimized children for hope and development
  • Increase the number of vulnerable and victimized children receiving quality education in grade 1 to 9 in catchments areas
  • Expand and Improve quality life skills of vulnerable and victimized children to protect themselves from violence, sexual abuse, drug and crime, trafficking and discrimination
  • Strengthen public service management system for vulnerable and victimized children to receive proper care and protection
  • Strengthen Child Protection Network System at community levels to protect and proper care vulnerable children and exposed to violence, sexual abuse, crime, drug, trafficking and discrimination
  • Strengthen awareness, attitudes, knowledge on child Rights to children, duty bearers, you led group, parents in order to promote implementing and monitoring of UNCRC
  • Coordinate children who are in conflict with the law in order to promote the rights of the children through legal representation and divergence program

Program Background
Family Protection Network Project was implemented for 3-year from 2011-2013. Now this project through, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) through Plan International agreed to support for one more year from January – December 2014 for preparation of re-programing and long term proposal for next five years for 2015-2019. 

By the smoothly coordination and facilitation from Plan international in Cambodia, CCASVA received funding from EU. This is the 3-year project of Violence and Against Children with financial support from EU- through Plan international which will be implemented from January 2014 - December 2016 for Kampong Cham and Siem Reap Provinces.  
 
The aim of this project is to facilitate children and adults to realize their rights, and to be increasingly protected from abuse. New protection networks will be established, and existing ones strengthened, with clear focus on the prevention of violence against women and children. Protection Networks consist of children, their families and local authorities, with representatives at the village, commune and district, province and national levels. These will be linked by a monitoring, reporting and intervention mechanism to provide legal and social assistance to victims of abuse and their families.
