Paz y Desarrollo (PyD) is a Spanish international independent nonprofit organization with neither religious nor political affiliation, founded in the year 1991 in Córdoba (Spain).
Paz y Desarrollo established a Regional Office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in 2009 to coordinate and support the work carried out by all its Country Offices in Asia: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Philippines, Timor Leste and Vietnam.
In Cambodia, PyD is currently implementing two 4-year regional programs aimed to promote Social and Economic Development with Gender Perspective (Cambodia, Timor Leste and Vietnam) and Political Participation with Gender Equity (Bangladesh, Cambodia, Philippines, Timor Leste and Vietnam).
In the framework of these programs, the Communications Department of PyD Cambodia is coordinating the Good Men Campaign, a National Campaign led by Ministry of Women’s Affairs with the aim to reduce Violence Against Women (VAW) and to promote behaviors changes towards gender equality. The campaign strategy is to encourage 3.5 million Cambodian men within ages from 15 to 49 to have positive attitude and behavior in response to gender issues and to break social and cultural norms which obstruct gender equality. This nationwide campaign is funded by the Spanish Agency of International Development Cooperation (AECID), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Partners for Prevention (P4P) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
In order to ensure the achievement of the long terms outcomes of the programs in Cambodia, PYD is recruiting a Communication Officer, based in Phnom Penh. He/she will be under the supervision of the Country Representative in Cambodia.
