Peace Corps/Cambodia seeks a Language and Cross Cultural Coordinator (LCCC) for our office in Phnom Penh to support the work of American Volunteers working in rural areas throughout Cambodia. Peace Corps (www.peacecorps.gov) is a US government agency that sends Volunteers to assist in development.
The Language & Cross-Culture Coordinator (LCCC) organizes and manages the on-going language & cross-culture learning activities for Peace Corps Trainees and Volunteers throughout their service. The Language & Cross-Culture Coordinator plans, designs, budgets, directs and evaluates language and cross-culture training components and workshops which address identified needs of Volunteers and trainees. The LCCC is responsible for the effective running of the language and cross-cultural training program during Pre-service training and In-service training, and provides necessary support for the ongoing language learning of Volunteers, including oversight of the host family program. The LCCC also works closely with staff to recruit qualified Language Culture Facilitators (LCFs) who are able to work with Americam Volunteers. He/She leads the recruitment process and assists in the selection. During training, the LCCC gives feedback to the LCF on their performance.
In advance of and during training events, Language/Cross Cultural Coordinator will work long hours and on weekends without additional compensation. The LCCC is also responsible for the maintenance of the In-House Resource Center for the ongoing learning and development of volunteers in their work.
The LCCC is supervised by the Director of Programming and Training. During PST the LCCC reports to the PST Director.
