Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and Volunteer/Intern

International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) is a Geneva-based NGO working to guarantee all citizens the right to competent legal representation, the right to be protected from cruel and unusual punishment, and the right to a fair trial. IBJ has had an active presence in Cambodia since 2006, operating 8 Defender Resource Centers (DRCs) providing legal services to the poor in 18 provinces and conducting a range of activities to improve the quality of legal aid throughout the country. Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will coordinate and strengthen monitoring and evaluation of all IBJ activities in Cambodia. The M&E Officer will plan and guide the overall M&E strategy and implementation of related activities within the project and via partners. S/he will collect data and keep track of project activities and indicators to support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports. She/he will lead efforts to analyze and articulate the results and impacts of IBJ’s efforts, and will promote awareness of IBJ’s Cambodia Program to key stakeholders and throughout the country

Volunteer/intern
IBJ Cambodia is currently looking for Cambodian law students willing to experience the NGO’s work and to practice criminal law.  The internship will be the opportunity for the volunteer to practice its legal knowledge and to experience the work on the field. It will also be the opportunity to get knowledge on an international NGO’s functioning.  The volunteer will be able to follow the lawyers and the investigators in their daily tasks in representing poor accused people.  He will also work with the management team in order to monitor the activities and translate legal documents in English and Khmer.  In provinces, the intern will work full-time in one of IBJ’s provincial DRC. It will also be the opportunity to get knowledge on how to manage a provincial office as IBJ provincial lawyers are also head of their Defender Resource Centers (DRCs).  IBJ Cambodia is looking for 4 highly motivated and dedicated students who want to learn from this experience and share his knowledge

POSITION:Volunteer/intern
LOCATION: Phnom Penh, DRC in Pursat, Prey Veng and Mondulkiri provinces.
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible.    
DURATION: 4 months to 10 months.
SALARY: IBJ will cover the intern’s work-related travel expenses and will provide him/her with a small monthly allowance.
