Senior Project Officer

ave Cambodia's Wildlife (SCW) is a national conservation organization that its mission is to protect and conserve natural resources and wildlife habitats through the following: (i) carry out action research, publication and education programs on relevant issues; (ii) promote efficient alternative livelihood support programs; and (iii) play an increasing constructive role in raising public awareness about climate change concerns and promoting use of available means for community based climate change adaptation and individual active participation in climate change mitigation. SCW was founded in June 1999 and the launch of formal activities began in January 2000, and first achieved recognition by the Royal Government of Cambodia through registration with the Ministry of Interior in July 29, 2002.
With financial support from the European Union (EU), WHH/GAA, CEDAC, MHP and SCW are implementing partners of the 3 year project called “Strengthening Farmer’s Organizations’ Voices in Policy Dialogue on Food Security and Nutrition”, started from January 2013 to December 2015 in Ratanakiri. Under the partnership agreement, SCW is to contribute to improve food security and nutritional status of vulnerable populations in Cambodia and to strengthen capacities of 4,500 poor of 180/3countries (Cam, Lao, Myanmar) to engage effective dialogue on policies issue related to food security and nutrition with public authorities, private sectors and other development actors.

The main responsibilities entrusted to SCW include establishing and providing technical training to members of Farmers’ Organization (FOs) focusing on NTFP and nutritional knowledge; training and guiding FOs in organizing, networking, communicating and advocating; facilitating cross border exchange visits of relevant experiences; preparing case-studies of successful FOs to support and advocate with decision makers; and supporting local media organization (including Radio) to run innovative stories that highlight food security / nutrition issues and important role of FOs in addressing issues.

To manage effectively and efficiently the above main activities, we are seeking for a qualified national senior project officer (SPO) to be based in Ratanakiri. The followings are the job requirements:

POSITION: Senior Project Officer
DUTY STATION: Rattanakiri
DURATION: 24 months
SUPERVISION: one Project Officer (PO)
REPORT TO: Program Manager

The position is based in Ratanakiri province with frequent travel support to project officer (PO) in implementing project activities, liaising with local authorities and other stakeholders. This position requires traveling to Phnom Penh for project related workshop, trainings and assignments.
Save Cambodia's Wildlife business hour is 8 am to 12 pm and 1:30pm to 5:00pm, from Monday to Friday.
